What to include
It helps us if you tell us:
- Your device and operating system version (for example, "Galaxy S23, Android 16").
- The app version, shown in the app's Settings screen.
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
Please do not send us your password, your security PIN, or the contents of your conversations. We do not need them, and we cannot read your messages in any case.
Deleting your account
See Delete your SACKGRAM account for how to delete your account in the app or by asking us without the app, and for what is deleted and what is kept, for how long.
Account and privacy requests
To ask what information is associated with your account, to request deletion, or to exercise any other right described in our Privacy Policy, email us at the address above from any address you can be reached at, and describe your request.
Because Sackgram accounts are not tied to a phone number or email address, we may not be able to verify that an account belongs to you. Where we cannot verify ownership, we may be unable to act on a request — this is a consequence of collecting so little about you, and we would rather refuse an unverifiable request than act on one made by the wrong person.
Deleting your data yourself
You can do most of this in the app without contacting us:
- Delete a message you sent, for both sides.
- Set a conversation to delete messages automatically.
- Remove a contact, which also deletes that conversation's history for both people.
- Leave a group.
- Uninstall the app, which removes the keys held on your device.
Currently known limitations
- Recovering an account with conversation recovery turned off. If you lose your phone and recover your account with your passkey while conversation recovery was off, your account, your friends and your group room list come back on the new phone, but that phone cannot read or send encrypted conversations. One-to-one voice calls work. If conversation recovery is on before the phone is lost (Settings → Account recovery in the app), the conversations still in your rooms come back on the new phone too. We are working on improving this.
Reporting a security issue
If you believe you have found a security vulnerability, email info@sackgram.com with the details and, if possible, steps to reproduce it. Please give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate before disclosing it publicly.
